Privacy Policy

Short version: this site collects very little. No advertising, no tracking cookies, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

Who is responsible

This website (randhirverma.com) is run by Randhir Kumar Verma, PMP®, based in Patna, Bihar, India. For anything in this policy, write to rkv762@gmail.com.

What is collected, and why

  • Contact and consulting forms. Your name, email, and whatever else you choose to type (phone, organization, topic, message). It is saved in the site's database and emailed to me so I can reply. I keep it only as long as it is useful to the conversation.
  • Comments. Name, email and the comment. The comment and name are shown publicly once approved; your email is never shown. Comments are held for review first.
  • Newsletter. Your email address, only if you subscribe. You confirm by clicking a link in an email (double opt-in), and every email I send will include a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops all emails.
  • Likes. Pressing “Like” on an article stores a random browser code (see Cookies below), kept only as a salted hash, so one browser can like an article once. It is not linked to your name or email.
  • Visit statistics. To see which pages are useful, each page view records: the page, the website that sent you (e.g. google.com), your approximate country and city (supplied by the hosting network from your IP address), and your device type, browser and operating system. Your IP address and any cookie are never stored. A visitor is an anonymous code that changes every day, so no one can be followed across days or identified. Search-engine bots are ignored, and so are visitors whose browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. These records are deleted automatically after about 13 months.
  • Abuse prevention. To stop spam and password guessing, a salted hash of your IP address is kept for a short time (a couple of days) to count how often an action was tried. The IP address itself is not stored.

Cookies

This site sets almost none:

CookiePurposeLifetime
rv_voterRemembers that this browser liked an article (random code, no personal data). Only set if you press Like.1 year
rv_adminKeeps the site owner signed in to the admin area. Visitors never receive it.30 minutes idle

There are no advertising, analytics or social-media tracking cookies. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data I hold about you, withdraw consent (for example, unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in any email), or ask a question about how it is used. Email rkv762@gmail.com and I will respond within a reasonable time. These rights follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, for visitors in Europe or the UK, the GDPR. If you are unhappy with my reply, you may complain to your local data-protection authority.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, public access to the database is switched off (only the website's own server can read or write it), and the admin area is protected by a password and two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but I keep stored data to a minimum precisely so there is little to lose.

Changes

If I change what the site collects, I will update this page and its date. See also the contact page.
